The Crew of the Griddlebone  (in order of importance)

Captain Pirate Kitty

Captain Horatio Arthur Nelson Wellesley is the Captain of the Griddlebone.  He has an eclectic taste in reading, and an eye patch (this is perfectly normal for pirate captains).

The Mate

Jack Every, Mate (he would be first but so far no one has been persuaded to act as second).  Excels at paperwork and accountancy.  Has a fondness for business mangement books and cake.

The Cook

Henry Kidd.  Has insitituted afternoon tea on the Griddlebone solely because he likes making cake.  Reads crime fiction - but occasionally tackles business books to keep the Mate company.

The Deckhands

Ed, Ned and Ted Morgan.  Trouble in every way.  Avid readers of romances, the more torrid the better.  

The Cabin Boy

Bart Read.  The only member of the crew who will admit to reading comics.  Technically on a modern apprenticeship due to a tax loophole discovered by the Mate.

Wolfy

A Siberian reference wolf.  Exiled from his native Russia he's has made a home in the library.  Aside from a tendancy to eat the unwary he's an excellent reference librarian.

Mr Croft

A minor member of the middle management team with responsibilities for library footfall.  Has a basement office and a collection of rather nice umbrellas.  Questions relating to his qualifications or authority will result in a raised eyebrow.  You don't want a raised eyebrow.
